Carole Robertson (14), Carol Denise McNair (11), Addie Mae Collins (14), and Cynthia Wesley (14) died on September 15, 1963, when a bomb exploded during Sunday morning services at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. The bombing came just days after the federal ruling came for Alabama to integrate the school system.

Beautiful work.

Thanks for the link. Such astonishing work.
And I love the thought that she strategically uses textiles—a traditionally marginalized medium—to interrogate and highlight the historically marginalized.
So important to remember them! And this quilt is beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Deep breath in. Deep breath out.
Agreed. That quilt is amazing. And yes – always important. Justice for the KKK terrorists was a long time coming.
