Monolingualism can be cured

A former colleague – a wonderful Spanish teacher – has a sign by her desk that makes the bold statement Monolingualism can be cured.

I am sure she is right in the general sense but for those of still suffering from the disease after many years of traditional schooling there is help at hand. Above is the mission statement in Spanish, Japanese and Russian. But of course you knew that. (I had to use the translator widget to your left.) I can’t vouch for the accuracy. Looking at the French translation of this page even my limited knowledge spotted some very clunky translation. However, it’s a whole lot better than monolingualism.

Is Europanto one way forward?
