There’s an animal sanctuary in Saugerties and today students from the high school were there giving a helping hand. There was a barn to be painted, muck to be raked and animals to care for.

Here is a collage of pictures from today’s service learning trip. Thanks Tanya for making the connection, organizing the trip and for the photos.
And Catskill Animal Sanctuary is looking for more volunteers. Read their blog – Where the Blind Horse Sings – to find out how you can be a part of it.
This is their mission:

  • Provide a safe haven for abused, abandoned, and neglected horses and farm animals
  • Raise awareness of the treatment of these animals and its impact on all of us and our environment
  • Serve as an educational resource to schools, youth organizations, and other community organizations by providing innovative on-site and school-based programming

And they invite you to visit.

I know that PDS students made a difference today. But I also know the benefit was mutual.
