The Failure Toy: Coming Soon

Looks like The Failure Toy is coming soon from the good folks at 21Toys. The Empathy Toy worked and the The Failure Toy has lots of promise. This should be fun.

And this is what they say about it:

The Failure Toy

It’s really hard to talk about failure. Failure is an ugly word, but studies show that “kids fail less when they know that failure is part of learning” and not just kids, but adults too. “We actually learn more from our failures than we do from our success”. The failure toy challenges the notion that failure is something to be feared and hidden and instead something that can be practised and developed as a skill. Why not play with failure?

Henry Moore Bound to Fail Bruce Nauman 1970

Henry Moore’s sculptures were once thought so shocking that outraged people mutilated them and splattered them with paint. The director of the Tate gallery – J.B. Manson – said that Moore’s work would only enter the gallery over his dead body.

Bruce Nauman’s Henry Moore Bound to Fail, is a commentary on that controversy. Needless to say, the Tate Gallery is stuffed with works by Moore.
