Over on the other side of the world at Leading and Learning in New Zealand, Bruce Hammonds has posted this picture of a starfish on the beach for his end of year post.

It refers to the story of the person who made a difference by throwing a single starfish from among many back into the ocean – a small act in the face of a huge task. Maintaining optimism for the future and hope for a better world can sometimes seem daunting.
So, as the sun goes down at the end of the year, here is a cry for peace!

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
