  1. I always forget how the view on our favorite drive down through the agricultural town to our south changes so dramatically once the leaves fall. My other favorite reveal are all the hawks now clearly evident on their previously hidden branches.

  2. One of my four favourite seasons…but Autumn has a certain solemnity and peace.
…its bright colours signalling a route toward quiet reflection on the year passing. Thanks…I did not know of the poem.

    1. Autumn is in my top four too. And depending on which one we are in at the time is my favorite for about a quarter of the year. The words are mine. As is the misplaced apostrophe. Which I am now going to fix.
Thanks for the good words Diej,

  3. Simply beautiful. I’d like to say more, but the poem and pix speak so eloquently that anything I might add would be superfluous.

  4. Thank you for this healthy, poetic, wise perspective on autumn (which is not my favorite time of year). I especially liked the photo of the hornets’ nest. Wow!

    1. Thanks Will. Those nests are huge. Had one right behind the house in a rhododendron once and so well hidden I didn’t notice under pruning months later. they also have taken to burying under the paving stones outside the back door. I would prefer they kept to the trees.

  5. Oh I love this poem – it captures the mood of Autumn/Fall perfectly, with beautiful photos that enhance the mood further. Thank you Josie!
